Le Napee sono le ninfe dei prati, delle acque, delle montagne, amano la dolce solitudine dei luoghi selvaggi ma a volte concedono il loro amore a qualche fortunato essere umano. Esse abitano luoghi segreti dove la bellezza si può intravedere ma non possedere, amano liberamente uomini o donne, dalle loro unioni con mortali nascono semidei ed eroi.
