La pièce è una decostruzione metaforica di un argomento sensibile e prettamente politico, ma rappresenta anche lo smantellamento dei codici della proprietà e della dominazione sessuale, pro e contro il capitalismo. In HATE ME, TENDER the artist Teresa Vittucci dwells on the ambivalence of the Virgin Mary, who on the one hand embodies the kind and sorrowful mother, the compassionate woman, the most holy of all the saints, on the other hand, she is a symbol criticized by the feminist movement, as the archetype of many stereotypes.
