71 Il volume raccoglie gli atti del seminario La funzione culturale dei festival , tenutosi il 29 settembre 2018 al Teatro Metastasio di Prato nell'ambito di Contemporanea Festival. In questa occasione alcuni direttori di festival, tra i più rilevanti del panorama italiano, hanno discusso insieme a studiosi, critici e operatori il ruolo odierno dei progetti artistico- culturali che articolano e trasformano la nozione di 'festival'. Attraverso una serie di dialoghi tematici, affidati ciascuno a una coppia di interlocutori e seguiti da discussioni allargate, si è riflettuto sulla complessa storia dei festival teatrali, sulle dinamiche interne alle loro progettazioni, sul rapporto tra pubblico specialistico e comunità locali, tra artisti, mestieri della scena e sistema teatro per poi allargare lo sguardo al sistema paese e ai problemi territoriali, ridefinendo il percorso che va dalla processualità al progetto. Il seminario segue un primo appuntamento in cui esperti e professionisti del settore si sono confrontati, nell'ambito dell'edizione 2017 di Contemporanea Festival, sulla crisi della funzione culturale dei/nei festival. Da questo e da altri successivi incontri nascono le tematiche dei dialoghi qui raccolti. The volume collects the documents of the seminar The cultural function of festivals , held on 29 September 2018 at the Teatro Metastasio in Prato as part of Contemporanea Festival. On this occasion, some festival directors, among the most relevant on the Italian scene, discussed with scholars, critics and operators about the current role of artistic and cultural projects that articulate and transform the notion of 'festival'. Through a series of thematic dialogues, each entrusted to a couple of interlocutors and then followed by expanded discussions, we reflected on the complex history of theatre festivals, on the dynamics within their projects, on the relationship between specialist public and local communities and between artists, crafts and the theatre system and then broaden our view of the country system and territorial problems, redefining the path that goes from the process to the project. The seminar follows a first appointment in which experts and professionals have confronted each other, in the context of the 2017 edition of Contemporanea Festival, on the crisis of the cultural function of/in the festivals. From this and from other subsequent meetings the themes of the dialogues collected here are born.
